We really appreciated the time Dr. Lo took discussing our son’s injury and painting a clear picture of his situation. Surgery went smoothly and we have been extremely impressed with the communication all the way through the process, from both Dr. Lo and his staff.

In meeting with you yesterday, you expressed how happy you were with my progress. I wanted you to know that while I am happy with everything, I neglected to tell you that this would not be possible without your expertise! Thank you for being as good as you are with this surgical procedure.

About Private Care

How do I access private surgical services?2021-01-25T08:50:18-07:00

Dr. Lo has partnered with Gateway Surgery to provide patients with a full circle of care and assist patients with their private surgery journey. From the initial consultation to surgery and the post-operative care, Dr. Lo and the Gateway team will ensure your experience is comprehensive and seamless.

Who will decide whether I am a surgical candidate?2020-11-15T16:18:04-07:00

Dr. Lo will complete a comprehensive assessment to determine whether your shoulder could benefit from surgery and if an operative procedure can be performed privately in a non-hospital surgical facility. Further assessment, such as an anesthesiology consult, may be required to determine if you are medically fit for surgery in a private facility.

Where will my surgery be performed?2020-11-15T16:17:53-07:00

Your surgery location will depend on your province of residence, the details of your health coverage, and your insurance benefits. Dr. Lo performs private surgeries at a variety of surgical centres in British Columbia and Alberta.

How fast can I get my surgery?2020-11-15T16:17:42-07:00

Dr. Lo typically performs private surgery 1-2 times per month in both Alberta and British Columbia. Actual times may vary according to scheduling, access to operating room time, and location.

How much will the surgery cost?2021-01-23T10:03:16-07:00

The cost depends on the type of surgery, the surgery’s complexity, and the surgical facility where your procedure will take place. Please contact Dr. Lo’s office or Gateway Surgery for an initial consultation and personalized quote.

Do I have to do any tests before surgery?2020-11-15T16:17:19-07:00

Before your surgery, standard testing may include diagnostic imaging such as an x-ray, ultrasound, or MRI. Further testing, such as an ECG and bloodwork, may be required for anaesthetic clearance.
